When summertime arrives, Chef Kenta Kamo, co-owner of the Michelin-recommended Temaki Den, satisfies his nostalgic craving for kakigori, a traditional Japanese shaved ice dessert. Now, you can indulge in this delightful treat at Kakigori Ken, a limited-time summer pop-up located within The Source Market Hall in Denver’s River North Art District.
With a deep passion for Japanese food culture, we wanted to introduce the Denver community to the unique experience of kakigori. Unlike the shaved ice found in snow cones, kakigori is known for its fluffy texture achieved by using sharp blades to shave high quality ice blocks topped with natural syrups made from fresh fruit purees.
